Gordon Bowen

Founder and Chairman, mcgarrybowen

Gordon Bowen heralds one of the most diverse and celebrated careers on Madison Avenue. Time named him a creator of “emotional blockbusters” and his legendary American Express “Membership Has Its Privileges” campaign was named Advertising Age’s “Campaign of the Decade.” Since founding mcgarrybowen in 2002, Gordon’s creative leadership has fueled the Agency’s historic growth, resulting in a roster of blue chip brand icons and three "Agency of the Year” honors in the last six years from Advertising Age and Adweek. His impressive career also extends outside of advertising. As Creative Director for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Gordon wrote the theme line “Light The Fire Within” and teamed to create the opening and closing ceremonies (The Games were nominated for seven Emmy Awards). Prior to that, he also served as Creative Director for Robert Redford’s Sundance entities. Brands, likewise, have had the luck of benefiting from Gordon’s creative prowess. Memorable campaigns include Coca-Cola’s “Always Coca-Cola” and AT&T’s “It’s All Within Your Reach.”
