DentsuBos takes home three honors at the 58th annual Communication Arts Advertising Awards

11 Aug 2017

Toronto – DentsuBos has won three awards at the 58th annual Communication Arts Advertising Awards, one of the most prestigious juried competitions in visual communications in the world.

The agency won two Awards of Excellence for their work with Discovery Center Halifax on the multi-awarded campaign “The Science of Rock N Roll”. DentsuBos was honoured in the consumer newspaper ad categories, in the series (“Periodic Table”) and single (“Maiden”) subcategories. The insightful execution was rolled out with a limited budget. It blended smartly music trivia and science, connecting at once in a meaningful and entertaining way with both Gen-X parents and their families.

DentsuBos also won a third Award of Excellence in the non-traditional advertising category on the Snowden movie launch campaign with client Elevation Pictures, which has to date clinched six awards and extensive press coverage. To mirror the security and privacy debate sparked in the film, the execution featured the installation of  a live camera streaming real-time video of pedestrians to one of the billboards in Dundas square. The determination of all partners  - clients, media vendors and agency team - in launching this eye-catching surveillance operation made it possible to offer a powerful experience to audiences and to win in the category.

The honored campaigns stand out for their audacity and relevant engagement with consumers, reflecting the focus of Discovery Center Halifax and Elevation Pictures on bringing to market bold, best-in-class creative.

“I want to congratulate our clients and talented teams for contributing to these successes,” mentioned Stephen Kiely, CEO of DentsuBos. “I am proud of these accomplishments and eager to see us collectively push further the limits of creativity and innovation.”

The awards are presented by the magazine Communication Arts which publishes the best in visual communications from around the world. The winning entries will be distributed worldwide in the print and digital editions of the Communication Arts Design Annual, Communication Arts Advertising Annual, art stores, book stores, Amazon, com and on commarts.com.
