Dentsu Aegis Network today announces the acquisition of Arrechedera y Claverol (AC), a leading independent full-service advertising agency in Mexico. AC will become part of global award-winning creative agency mcgarrybowen, further expanding the agency’s footprint in key creative hubs around the world.

AC was founded in 2007 in Mexico City by Juan Claverol and Sebastian Arrechedera with a focus on strategic planning and creative services. The agency has grown to a team of 110 people offering full-service agency capabilities from strategy, integrated creative campaigns, branded content, to social listening, software solutions, and corporate communications across all media channels. AC earned its place as one of the hottest and most awarded creative agencies in Mexico, garnering numerous high-profile creative awards including three Agency of the Year honours: International Advertising Bureau (2015), Merca 2.0 (2014), and Circulo Creativo (2013).

Following the acquisition, AC will be renamed AC/mcgarrybowen with its management team – Sebastian Arrechedera, Creative Director; Juan Claverol, Business and Client Development Director; Miquel Daura, Managing Director – reporting to Julio Castellanos, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Mexico.

mcgarrybowen Founder Gordon Bowen said: “We were beyond impressed with the work and results AC continues to deliver for their clients and we are honoured to have them as our partner in Mexico’s creative centre. I am happy to welcome them to the mcgarrybowen family and look forward to demonstrating the power of our partnership for our clients locally and globally.”

AC Co-founders Sebastian Arrechedera and Juan Claverol commented: ”It’s an exciting day for AC. We have long admired mcgarrybowen because of their commitment to creativity and are thrilled to join forces now. Together we can leverage the synergies in creativity and innovation on an international scale.”

Julio Castellanos, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Mexico, said: “We are pleased to expand our creative reach in Mexico, the second largest economy in Latin America after Brazil. Mexico is a critical market for our growing roster of global clients, and the combination of AC and mcgarrybowen represent a creative powerhouse in this market like no other.”

This acquisition further demonstrates mcgarrybowen’s strategic expansion plan that focuses on key international creative talent hubs. The addition of Mexico City further extends mcgarrybowen’s growing global network, now including Amsterdam, London, Paris, Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and São Paulo, in addition to its US offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and San Antonio.
