Dentsu Aegis Network today announces the acquisition of Fetch Media Limited (“Fetch”), a global full-service mobile agency. Fetch will retain its brand identity and work collaboratively with Dentsu Aegis Network’s market-leading brand, media and communications businesses to help scale and accelerate the group’s mobile capabilities.

Headquartered in London and with offices in the US, Germany and Hong Kong, Fetch is one of Europe’s most awarded mobile advertising agencies. The business was founded in 2009 by James Connelly and Declan Reddington and currently employs 96 mobile experts delivering mobile strategy, media, creative and analytics services to a wide range of clients in over 90 countries.

Co-founder and CEO James Connelly will continue to lead his successful and award-winning business with support from his existing management team, including the recently appointed COO, Greg Grimmer. Fetch will report to Robert Horler, Chief Executive Officer of Northern Europe, Dentsu Aegis Network, who takes on responsibility for overseeing the continued global development of Fetch at Dentsu Aegis Network.

“With consumers increasingly engaging with brands through mobile devices, mobile media has become a critical part of the communication ecosystem and a key driver for business outcomes. Growing our digital profile across all capabilities is one of our five strategic priorities and this deal clearly recognises the potential we see in both Fetch and the wider mobile market,” said Robert Horler, Chief Executive Officer of Northern Europe, Dentsu Aegis Network.

“Fetch has a very fast growing agency arm in the US and we are looking forward to adding their unique capabilities within our US operating model and to scaling the business,” said Nigel Morris, Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Aegis Network Americas & EMEA.

“This is a logical next step for Fetch as we look to deliver our ambitious growth plans and scale our business globally. We are particularly pleased to be able to do that as part of Dentsu Aegis Network. Dentsu Aegis Network has a proven track record of growing digital businesses and a clear appreciation of the increasing importance of mobile in the media landscape. We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with Dentsu Aegis Network to deliver world-class mobile capabilities on behalf of an increasing number of mobile-focused clients,” said James Connelly, Co-founder and CEO.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
